Role: Proposals Engineer - Service Department
Location: Midlands
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
Technical Resources are recruiting for a Proposals Engineer to join the Service Department of a leading fire protection company in the Midlands. You’ll be responsible for driving remedial sales growth, preparing detailed technical proposals, and supporting ongoing service and maintenance operations across a broad client base.
Responsibilities:
- Build strong, ongoing relationships with existing clients
- Conduct site surveys and gather key asset data to support estimates
- Liaise regularly with service and maintenance teams
- Review tender documentation including drawings, specifications, and standards
- Prepare detailed proposal documents using in-house software
- Follow up on submitted quotations and obtain client feedback
- Attend internal and external meetings to support client satisfaction and sales performance
- Represent the company professionally across all client communications
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Technical experience in fire sprinkler systems (essential)
- Strong understanding of fire protection standards including BSEN12845, BS9251, BS5306 & BS9990
- Experience creating technical fire protection proposals
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Commercial awareness and strong numerical ability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- Full UK driving licence
- Friendly, confident communicator with clients and stakeholders
- Able to manage changing priorities and deadlines
- Motivated to learn, develop and contribute to team success
