Role: Passive Fire Estimator

Location: West Midlands

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

Technical Resources are seeking a motivated Passive Fire Estimator in the West Midlands. As the Passive Fire Estimator within the Service Department, you will be at the heart of driving remedial sales growth aligned with our Service & Maintenance operations. You will be responsible for estimating and preparing proposals for fire protection systems, with a strong understanding of fixed fire protection systems in compliance with national and international standards. This role demands excellent analytical skills, organisation, and the ability to communicate effectively with our team, clients, and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers
  • Survey and gather key asset information to inform estimates
  • Regularly liaise with the service and maintenance teams to ensure smooth workflow
  • Review tender documents, including drawings, design standards, specifications, and client requirements
  • Develop detailed proposals using in-house electronic software
  • Monitor and progress submitted quotations to obtain client feedback
  • Attend internal and client meetings to ensure clear communication and expectations
  • Professionally interact with customers via email, telephone, or site visits to increase client satisfaction and sales opportunities
  • Hold a valid UK driving license

Experience and Certifications Required:

  • Proven technical experience in fire sprinkler systems
  • Experience in developing technical fire protection proposals
  • Strong understanding of fire protection-related standards, including BSEN12845, BS9251, BS5306, and BS9990
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and efficiency in work processes
  • Proven IT skills, with experience in MS Office packages
  • Friendly and outgoing personality with the natural ability to engage customers and represent Argus Fire positively
  • Strong commercial awareness with proven numerical skills
  • A willingness to learn and develop within the fire protection industry
