Job Title: Health and Safety Manager
Location: Essex
Rate: £350 p/day
We are on the look out for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join a team in overseeing health and safety protocols for projects in Essex. This role involves working closely with the client’s Health and Safety Manager to ensure the highest safety standards are maintained on-site. You will be responsible for managing daily health and safety operations, conducting site inductions, providing toolbox talks, and addressing near misses and reactive situations.
Description of contract/programme of works:
- Conduct regular Health and Safety meetings with the client (1 per day).
- Lead toolbox talks to educate staff and subcontractors on safety procedures.
- Work closely with the client’s Health and Safety Manager to ensure adherence to regulations.
- Provide daily reporting on safety performance, incidents, and near misses.
- Conduct site inductions for new personnel to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Monitor and report on safety-related issues, ensuring that safety procedures are implemented and followed.
Experience required:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in health and safety within the M&E, construction, or energy from waste sectors.
- Previous experience working in energy from waste or similar sectors is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and practices in high-risk environments.
Required documentation/certifications/tooling:
- NEBOSH certification is essential.
- Additional certifications or training in health and safety will be beneficial.
- ECS or relevant certifications are an advantage.
- PPE as required (high visibility trousers and long sleeve high vis jackets).
- Laptop for daily reporting and communication.
