Role : Fire Systems Design Engineer
Location: Reading
Salary: 50,000 - 55,000 per annum + 4,000 travel allowance

Technical Resources are recruiting for an experienced Fire Systems Design Engineer to join one of the UK’s leading facilities management companies. Operating across the Utilities, Data, Government, Education, and Healthcare sectors, they deliver large-scale, complex fire and life safety solutions. This is a hybrid role, ideal for a Design Engineer with a strong background in networked fire systems design.

Responsibilities :

  • Design Fire Detection and Alarm systems for large-scale and complex projects.

  • Produce system drawings (extensions and new installations) using AutoCAD.

  • Survey sites, provide accurate pricing, estimates, and proposals for clients.

  • Liaise with project managers and site teams to ensure designs meet standards and procedures.

  • Attend client and site meetings, providing technical expertise and updates.

  • Prepare and present reports, design certification, and full project documentation.

  • Contribute to monthly reports and attend contract review meetings.

Experience and Certifications Required:

  • Strong knowledge of Fire Alarm regulations (essential).

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (essential).

  • FIA qualifications or equivalent industry certifications (advantageous).

  • Electrical background with proven design experience.

  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
