: Emergency Lighting Engineer

£32,000 - £35,000 per annum
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Emergency Lighting Engineer to carry out the installation, servicing, maintenance, and testing of emergency lighting systems across a wide range of client sites. The successful candidate will ensure all systems comply with BS 5266, current health & safety regulations, and provide safe, reliable illumination in the event of power loss or emergency.
Responsibilities :

Install, service, maintain, and test emergency lighting systems in accordance with BS 5266 and other relevant regulations

Carry out periodic inspections and report on the condition and performance of systems

Diagnose faults, replace components, and perform system upgrades as required

Use specialist tools including Lux meters and battery testers to verify system performance

Ensure all work is completed in line with RAMS and site-specific health & safety procedures

Provide clear and accurate service reports, test records, and client documentation

Advise clients on system improvements or upgrades in line with compliance needs

Communicate professionally with clients, site contacts, and other contractors

Work independently or as part of a team depending on site/project needs
Experience and Certifications Required:
-
Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of emergency lighting systems

Strong knowledge of BS 5266 and its application in real-world environments

Confident with electrical drawings, layout plans, and technical specifications

Familiarity with a range of emergency lighting systems and test equipment

Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and communication skills

Comfortable working across commercial, residential, and industrial environments
