£32,000 - £35,000 per annum
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Emergency Lighting Engineer to carry out the installation, servicing, maintenance, and testing of emergency lighting systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and residential sites. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, an understanding of BS 5266, and a commitment to safety and compliance.
Responsibilities :

Install, service, and maintain emergency lighting systems in accordance with BS 5266 and current legislation

Carry out periodic inspections and performance testing

Perform fault-finding, diagnostics, and repairs of faulty components

Use Lux meters, battery testers, and other electrical testing tools effectively
-
Maintain up-to-date service records, testing logs, and client reports
-
Ensure all works are carried out safely and in compliance with health & safety regulations and site RAMS

Advise clients on necessary upgrades or remedial actions

Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, and other contractors on-site

Work independently or as part of a team across multiple locations
Experience and Certifications Required:
-
Proven experience with emergency lighting systems installation and maintenance

Strong understanding of BS 5266 and fire safety standards

Experience working in commercial, industrial, and residential environments

Competence in reading electrical drawings, system schematics, and technical documentation

Confident in using relevant testing tools and producing compliant documentation

Good problem-solving skills and ability to work to deadlines
