: Fire & Emergency Lighting Engineer

£32,000 - £35,000 per annum
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fire & Emergency Lighting Engineer to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault-finding, and small installation works of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems across commercial, residential, and industrial environments.
Responsibilities :

Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and testing of fire alarm systems (addressable and conventional) in accordance with BS 5839-1

Perform emergency lighting inspections, testing, and maintenance in line with BS 5266-1

Diagnose and repair faults on fire alarm and emergency lighting systems

Complete small installation works or modifications to existing systems

Ensure all works meet high standards and comply with current regulations and company procedures

Provide accurate documentation, including job sheets and asset registers

Liaise professionally with site contacts, clients, and internal teams

Report any issues, remedial works, or non-compliances promptly
Experience and Certifications Required:
-
Minimum 2 years’ experience with fire alarm and emergency lighting systems

Good understanding of BS 5839-1 and BS 5266-1 standards

Experience with major fire alarm panel brands (e.g., Kentec, Advanced, Morley, C-Tec, Apollo, Hochiki) – advantageous

Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites

Full UK Driving Licence – essential

ECS or CSCS Card – beneficial

FIA Units 1 & 5 (or equivalent qualifications) – highly desirable
