Technical Resources are recruiting for a Fire and Security Service Engineer to join a team in Scotland. This role involves servicing, maintaining, and installing a wide range of security and fire systems, including intruder alarms, CCTV, access control systems, fire alarms, emergency lighting, and portable extinguishers. We are looking for a highly skilled professional who can meet the high standards expected for both security and fire system installations.
Responsibilities :
- Service and maintain intruder, CCTV, and access control systems.
- Meet and exceed maintenance and fault-finding targets.
- Carry out corrective and preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and portable extinguishers.
- Commission and handover GENT & Advanced fire alarm systems.
- Install and commission conventional and analogue addressable fire alarm systems.
- Install and commission portable extinguishers.
- Provide excellent customer service, explaining the causes and consequences of false alarms.
- Participate in an on-call rota for out-of-hours callouts and telephone support.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and company policies.
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Proven experience in fire and security system servicing and maintenance.
- Strong fault-finding skills and ability to provide first-time fixes.
- Working knowledge of intruder panels (Galaxy, Menvier, Scantronic).
- Experience with Network/IP-based systems.
- Experience with conventional and addressable fire systems from various manufacturers.
- In-depth understanding of BS5839 standards.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of GENT & Advanced fire alarm systems - desirable.
- Experience with VESDA and other aspirating systems - desirable.
- Electrical background - desirable.
- ICEL accreditation for emergency lighting - desirable.
- FIA Service & Maintenance of Fire Extinguishers certification - desirable.
- Broad knowledge of fire system products - desirable.
