Role: Fire and Security Service Engineer
Location: Cornwall
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum + Pension + Health Scheme + Fuel Card
As a Fire and Security Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out installations, commissioning, fault-finding, and general maintenance on fire systems, emergency lights, intruder alarms, CCTV systems, and access control systems in Cornwall. Knowledge of fire suppression systems is beneficial but not essential. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently to meet NSI and BAFE industry standards. This role also includes call-out shifts on a rota basis.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out installations to industry standards, NSI, and BAFE.
- Commission and hand over systems to customers.
- Perform fault-finding on fire and security systems.
- Meet predefined target times for installations.
- Communicate clearly with supervisors regarding customer issues.
- Use electronic reporting and customer portals for job management.
- Effectively manage stock and conduct vehicle audits.
- Adhere to Health & Safety standards.
- Present a professional appearance at all times.
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Understanding of BS5839:1, BS5266:1, and BS7671.
- Experience with BAFE SP203-1 and all NSI standards.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fire, installation, and service role.
- Full UK driving license (Essential).
- Strong timekeeping and customer-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dynamic, forward-thinking, and ambitious.
- Right to work in the UK.
