Role: Fire and Security Estimator
Location: Glasgow
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Technical Resources are recruiting for a Fire and Security Estimator based in Glasgow. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established firm specialising in the design, installation, and maintenance of fire and security systems across the UK. You’ll play a key role in preparing detailed estimates and system designs for commercial projects, with a flexible hybrid setup of 3 days in the office and 2 from home.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys to assess fire and security installation requirements
- Design systems including fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control
- Create detailed quotations and tender submissions, including materials and labour costs
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing
- Work closely with the sales team to ensure estimates are competitive and client-specific
- Communicate with clients and contractors to clarify project specifications
- Attend pre- and post-tender meetings as required
- Ensure all work complies with current UK legislation and industry standards
- Provide technical support to internal teams and clients as needed
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Proven experience as a Fire and Security Estimator
- Strong background in system design and site surveying
- Knowledge of British Standards for fire and security systems
- Proficient with design software and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Full UK driving licence required
