Role: Field Service Engineer
Location: Field based
Salary: £32,000 - £35,000 per annum
Technical Resources are recruiting for Field Service Engineer, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, attend call-outs, fault-find, and modify existing fire safety systems. You will ensure all works are completed to the highest standards, in line with BS 5839 and company procedures, while delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Complete planned preventative maintenance visits in your allocated regional area
- Respond to emergency call-outs and unscheduled work, meeting customer SLAs
- Fault-find and modify existing fire safety system configurations
- Complete service worksheets and company documentation in line with BS 5839 and internal policies
- Identify and report non-compliances and opportunities for additional works
- Support installation works when required
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Follow health and safety guidance, ensuring correct PPE and equipment use at all times
- Participate in quality audits, equipment calibration, and monthly health and safety toolbox talks
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Proven experience in servicing and maintaining fire safety systems
- FIA Foundation training with extensive knowledge of BS 5839
- Strong fault-finding skills
- Ability to modify fire safety system configurations
- Good IT skills
- Excellent organisational, communication, and customer service skills
- Technical FIA course – desirable
- Additional FIA training in advanced or specialist areas – desirable
