Job Title: Fibre Splicer
Location: South Wales
Rate: £220 p/day
Are you a Fibre Splicer looking for a new contract role? This role will primarily involve polishing fibres using a polishing machine, with the potential for splicing and testing with OTDR. This is a great opportunity for a Fibre Splicer based around South Wales who is willing to travel with their team and stay over for shifts.
Description of contract/programme of works:
- Polishing fibres using a polishing machine (experience preferred, but not essential)
- Splicing fibres (if no polishing experience, splicing experience is acceptable)
- Testing with OTDR (possibly required depending on the site)
- The work will be slow-paced, but requires precision and attention to detail
- The schedule involves 10-hour days, working 12 days on and 2 days off (ideally)
Experience required:
- Fibre polishing experience is ideal
- Fibre splicing experience will be considered as an alternative
- Experience with OTDR testing is beneficial (not essential)
Required documentation/certifications/tooling:
- ECS/CSCS card (essential)
- Standard hand tools
- 5-point PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
