Job Title:
Data Cabling Engineer
Location:
West Midlands
Rate: £180 p/day
As a Data Cabling Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation and termination of Cat6 cabling for data points, including Wi-Fi, APs, music systems, VOIP, EPOS, and kitchen printers. You will also install 9U cabinets and ensure all connections are tested and documented.
Description of contract/programme of works:
- Phase 2: Cabling / Installation across multiple sites
- Install and terminate Cat6 cabling for data points and office equipment
- Mount and connect 9U cabinets
- Work alongside an on-site engineer for the first 2 days
- Follow the patching schedule for each job
- Conduct surveys (3–4 per day) and report back with photos and descriptions of work completed
- Ensure careful handling of tools and equipment on live sites
Experience required:
- Previous experience in surveying and data cabling installation
- Knowledge of Cat6 structured cabling
- Understanding of working on live sites safely
Required documentation/certifications/tooling:
- Asbestos Awareness
- Health & Safety qualifications
- ECS/CSCS card
- Own vehicle for transport between sites
