Job Title: Data Cabling Engineer
Location: Southampton
Rate: £165 p/day
Are you looking for a Data Cabling Engineer role in Southampton? In this position, you will be responsible for installing Commscope Cat6a FFTP cables, performing terminations with an AMP tool (engineers need to supply their own), testing with Fluke testers, and installing containment such as plastic trunking and some galvanised conduit. Additional tasks include patching and mounting Wifi units.
Description of contract/programme of works:
- Install Commscope Cat6a FFTP cables and perform terminations with AMP tool.
- Test installations with Fluke testers.
- Install containment including plastic trunking and some galvanised conduit.
- Patching and mounting Wifi units.
Experience required:
- Experience with the installation and termination of Cat6a FFTP cables.
- Familiarity with testing tools (Fluke testers) and the installation of containment systems.
Required documentation/certifications/tooling:
- Working at height certification.
- Manual handling certification.
- Asbestos awareness certification.
- ECS or CSCS card.
- Standard hand tools.
- Termination tools.
- Drills.
- Steps.
- Hoover.
- VAN (required for transporting tools and equipment).
