Job Title: Data Cabling Engineer
Location: Reading
Rate: £165 p/day
Are you looking for a Data Cabling Engineer position in Reading? As a Data Cabling Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and installing CAT6a cabling on a structured site project. You will be working for a well-established contractor delivering critical infrastructure for commercial environments.
Description of contract/programme of works:
- CAT6a cable testing (Monday)
- Installation of CAT6a cabling (Tuesday onwards)
- Termination and labelling of data points
- Working to specification and site drawings
Experience required:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in data cabling installation
- Confident with CAT6a cable install and testing
- Familiarity with terminating tools and cable standards
Required documentation/certifications/tooling:
- CSCS or ECS card (essential)
- IPAF (beneficial)
- Hand tools and terminating tools
- Full PPE – hard hat, boots, gloves, high-vis, goggles
