Role: CAD Technician
Location: Essex
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum
Technical Resources are recruiting for a CAD Technician in Essex. This is a brilliant opportunity to join an independent, BAFE-accredited fire systems company with over 20 years in the industry. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a highly organised and technically minded individual to support their design and documentation team. This role is predominantly office-based with the occasional site or client visit.
Responsibilities:
- Create and modify detailed 2D drawings using AutoCAD
- Add devices and update layouts based on design requirements
- Produce accurate technical plans for client approval
- Manage document control, including RAMs and O&M manuals
- Upload and distribute updated drawings to clients and internal teams
- Conduct occasional site visits to verify on-site conditions
- Attend client meetings to provide technical input
- Maintain accurate document records and ensure version control
- Organise project files digitally and physically for easy retrieval
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD with strong 2D drawing capabilities
- Experience in document control processes and digital management systems
- Understanding of technical drawing standards and CAD best practices
- Prior experience in fire safety design (desirable but not essential)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively with engineers and clients
