Role: Business Development Manager - Service & Maintenance
Location: Midlands
Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum
Technical Resources are recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join the Sales & Estimating Department of a leading fire safety solutions provider. In this role, you will drive service and maintenance sales growth, manage key accounts, and support ongoing estimation activity across fixed fire protection and detection systems.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, including key account management
- Carry out site surveys and gather asset information to support proposals
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical standards in tenders
- Collaborate closely with service and maintenance teams to align project delivery
- Develop detailed proposal documents with accurate deliverables
- Follow up on quotations, lead negotiations, and document KPIs and feedback
- Conduct client and internal meetings and handovers post-award
- Manage sales activity across both new and existing accounts, including group-level enquiries
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Proven technical experience in fire sprinkler or detection systems
- Ability to read construction drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications
- Sound knowledge of fire protection/detection standards including: BS EN12845, BS9251, BS5306, BS9990, BS5839, BS EN15004
- Proficient with MS Office
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Friendly, professional communication style
- Organised and detail-focused with ability to meet deadlines
- Comfortable liaising at all levels of a business
- Willing to travel nationally and eager to learn and grow
