Salary:
£35,000 to £55,000 per annum
Are you an experienced Bid Writer looking to drive growth within a leading UK contractor? As a Bid Writer, you will play a pivotal role in securing new business across electrical, fire, security, mechanical, and building services sectors, supporting both public and private sector clients nationwide. Reporting to the Head of Bids, you will work closely with senior managers and business development teams to produce compelling, compliant, and high-quality tender submissions.
Responsibilities :
- Write and develop high-quality bids, tenders, PQQs, and business proposals
- Interpret client requirements and tailor submissions to meet specific criteria
- Proofread and refine team contributions, ensuring compliance with branding and formatting standards
- Maintain and develop a bid library including templates, case studies, and supporting evidence
- Monitor tender portals and identify new bid opportunities
- Coordinate input from multiple departments to meet strict submission deadlines
- Share feedback, lessons learned, and best practices to improve overall win rates
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Proven track record of writing successful bids valued between £250,000 and £5M annually
- Exceptional persuasive writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to analyse complex information and present it clearly and professionally
- Experience within construction, building services, fire, security or public sector procurement environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Willingness to travel occasionally across the UK if required
