Role: Automatic Door Engineer
Location: South Wales
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 per annum + Overtime + On-call allowances + Company vehicle
Technical Resources are recruiting for an Automatic Door Engineer in South Wales. As an Automatic Door Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing, and repairing a range of automatic door systems in compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. You will be working for a specialist contractor delivering high-quality access solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and repair sliding, swing, revolving, and specialist access doors
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently to minimise downtime
- Perform preventative maintenance in line with manufacturer recommendations and BS EN 16005 standards
- Conduct safety inspections, adjustments, and testing of door systems
- Provide on-site technical advice and support to clients
- Complete service reports, parts usage records, and other documentation accurately
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment on-site and in the company vehicle
- Work in line with company Health & Safety policies and relevant legal requirements
- Participate in the on-call rota for emergency breakdown cover
Experience and Certifications Required:
- Proven experience with automatic doors, access control, or similar electromechanical equipment
- Knowledge of BS EN 16005 and relevant safety standards
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Full UK driving licence (clean)
- Ability to pass full NPPV2 security vetting
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- ADSA or equivalent accreditation - desirable
- Experience with aluminium door fabrication and installation - desirable
- Familiarity with a variety of door control systems and brands - desirable
- Basic IT skills for reporting and service management systems - desirable
