: Smoke Ventilation Technical Manager

Salary:
£70,000 to £75,000 per annum
The Smoke Ventilation Technical Manager will take ownership of the technical direction for smoke control and natural ventilation systems. You will ensure all system designs meet regulatory, safety, and engineering standards, while supporting teams from tender through to delivery. This position plays a key role in shaping how the organisation delivers compliant, high-performance life-safety systems.
Responsibilities :

Lead the design, specification, and compliance review of smoke control and natural ventilation systems.

Act as the subject-matter expert on BS EN 12101, UK Building Regulations, and associated guidance.

Resolve complex design and integration challenges across multiple large-scale projects.

Provide technical support during tendering, bids, pre-sales engagement, and project mobilisation.

Approve technical documentation, including schematics, system drawings, and cause-and-effect documentation.
Experience and Certifications Required:

Extensive experience within smoke control, fire safety, HVAC, or building services engineering.

Strong knowledge of BS EN 12101, UK Building Regulations, and life-safety system standards.

Proficiency with control panel design, electrical schematics, and system integration.

Ability to use AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design/coordination software.

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects.
